A brief history overview of the Platform<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For several years now, Avocats Sans Fronti\u00e8res (ASF) has been seeking to rethink its modes of action, collaboration and partnership in order to place them in a more horizontal<\/strong>, international <\/strong>and collaborative context<\/strong>, based on three major observations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.<\/strong> Work in the field of justice and human rights is often solitary and exhausting: it is therefore necessary to base it's practice on working together, pooling knowledge and decompartmentalizing skills<\/strong> ;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.<\/strong> Development and international cooperation projects are too often developed with a North-South logic and without the active participation of local actors: it is important to decolonize <\/strong>this approach and to base it on<\/strong> horizontal links of collaboration<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.<\/strong> Learning relationships are too often vertical, from teacher to learner, and not very effective: we need to rethink them, basing them on learning by doing and transmission, via peer learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on these observations, but also on the need to rethink its actions to facilitate transnational exchanges and remote collaboration<\/b> - following in particular the Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences on international mobility - ASF wanted to develop online knowledge sharing and horizontal remote collaboration<\/b>, initially via existing tools (Whatsapp, Slack, Google Drive...). While the use of these tools makes it possible to effectively bring together people working thousands of kilometers apart, ASF's teams identified that they were not entirely satisfactory. On the one hand, they present certain security<\/b> flaws; on the other hand, they do not enable the consolidation of communities of practice<\/b>, as they do not integrate communication functionalities and those dedicated to collaborative work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ASF therefore wanted a digital platform<\/strong> integrating its needs for network revitalisation, knowledge management, intuitive communication and collective project deployment into a shared vision. This is how the project Justice ExPEERience<\/em><\/strong> came about, with the ambition of creating a digital, ethical and secure environment for transnational collaboration and peer learning in the field of human rights.<\/strong> This platform is now the network's concrete support, and the virtual place where exchanges take place, where peer learning dynamics unfold, where working groups are formed and where collaborations are developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
