{"id":1657,"date":"2025-02-25T09:35:16","date_gmt":"2025-02-25T08:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/justiceexpeerience.org\/?p=1657"},"modified":"2025-02-25T09:35:16","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T08:35:16","slug":"sondage-sur-la-perception-des-delits-mineurs-et-des-peines-alternatives-au-maroc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/justiceexpeerience.org\/en\/2025\/02\/25\/sondage-sur-la-perception-des-delits-mineurs-et-des-peines-alternatives-au-maroc\/","title":{"rendered":"Perception of Petty Offences and Alternative Sentences in Morocco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/asf.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ASF<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/omdp.org.ma\/beta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Observatoire Marocain des Prison<\/a> (OMP) have surveyed to assess <strong>the perception<\/strong> of Moroccan population on <strong>petty offences and alternative sentences in Morocco.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The aime is to<strong>guide legislative reforms<\/strong> and<strong>improve the practices of judicial actors<\/strong> to reduce the detention of people prosecuted for minor offences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The survey is based on <strong>a quantitative study<\/strong> of a representative sample of the Moroccan population (n=1009), balanced according to region, gender, age, and socio-professional category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The survey revealed <strong>contrasting perceptions of minor offences in Morocco <\/strong>, influenced by<strong> social, regional and cultural criteria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Although poverty-related offfences are more tolerated, other <strong>offences<\/strong>, <strong>particularly societal and religious offences<\/strong>, remain <strong>highly criminalised<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, <strong>alternative penaltiers are widely accepted as viable solutions<\/strong>, notably community service and daily fines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The survey also highlights <strong>the differences in treatment according to social category<\/strong>, with <strong>poorer and younger people being more heavily criminalised<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, the impact of the <strong>criminal record<\/strong> is seen as a <strong>major obstacle to rehabilitation<\/strong>, leading to a debate on its gradual abolition for certain miror offences.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ASF et l&rsquo;Observatoire Marocain&nbsp;des Prisons (OMP) ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un sondage visant \u00e0 \u00e9valuer la perception de la population marocaine&nbsp;sur les&nbsp;d\u00e9lits mineurs et les peines alternatives au Maroc.
